J&M has developed an innovative concrete paving system in response to designers’ goal to integrate the environmental benefits of LEED^®-friendly pervious concrete with the aesthetics of architectural concrete paving.  J&M call’s this new product PoroPave^® Permeable Concrete Paving.  This two-part concrete system consists of a decorative concrete topping layer that is bonded to the pervious concrete subslab below.  Surface water is then directed to the pervious concrete subslab below via saw-cut joints cut completely through the architectural concrete topping layer and partially into the pervious concrete layer below.  As a side benefit, PoroPave^® reduces or even eliminates costly and unsightly area drains and related subsurface drainage infrastructure thereby allowing the finished slab to be constructed at or near a dead-level grade.
