Arcadia Performing Arts Center is a impressive cultural facility located on the campus of Arcadia High School in Arcadia. The 40,000-square-foot venue opened with much fanfare in October 2012 during a benefit concert featuring music legend Paul Anka. A 21st century technological hub for drama, dance, concerts and classes, the center includes a main performance hall with seating for 1,200 and a stage with capacity for up to 200 musicians. Three classrooms have been tailored to instructors’ and students’ needs, including a sound-attenuated orchestra room, a blackbox/drama room with flexible seating for 125 guests and a dance room with a quadruple-sprung wood floor. The facility also incorporates a dramatic internal courtyard, lobby and outdoor pavilion areas consisting of a variety of decorative architectural concrete paving finshes that interface with new site concrete improvements at the adjacent campus – also constructed by J&M.
