The Viterbi School of Engineering at the USC is a 6 story, instructional and research complex that is a hub for student life and collaborative research. Ron Tutor Hall focus is on three rapidly evolving fields – biomedical technology, information technology, and nanotechnology. An open-air courtyard interfaces with the interior building lobby creating a collaborative atmosphere for the engineering students. The courtyard includes a cyber café containing decorative concrete and stone paving and a fountain with a reflecting pool basin and fountain jets. The exterior spaces surrounding the building include various entry points with decorative concrete paving, walls, steps and ramps which were all constructed by J&M.
